What you'll do

  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary R&D team covering mechanical, electrical, electronic and software engineering, developing products for international clients. 
  • Product development from concept through to manufacturing. 
  • Hands-on prototyping and testing. 
  • Generate 3D models, assemblies and 2D drawings. 
  • Create and own design documentation. 
  • Liaising with manufacturers for prototyping and design of production tooling. 
  • Use your knowledge of mechanical design to solve R&D problems.

Desirable Skills

  • A graduate of automotive, mechanical or aeronautical engineering or equivalent. 
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques (injection moulding, machining, 3D printing etc. ) 
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work under limited supervision to tight deadlines. 
  • Experience in 3D CAD software, ideally Solidworks. 
  • Understanding of mechanical materials and their processing. 
  • Finite Element Analysis and simulation, along with solid mechanics experience. 
  • Knowledge of dynamics and kinematics especially related to rotating machinery. 
  • Knowledge of turbomachinery, such as compressors, propellers and fans. 
  • Ability to model heat transfer and cooling systems of electrical machines and electronic assemblies.
