What you'll do

▪ Design and develop high-quality working prototype PCBs adhering to well defined design requirements and
standards
▪ Develop, test, validate and verify high level control algorithms (eg: PID, Motor control, battery voltage etc.) in
MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice or equivalent
▪ Test and repair to component level, debug and solve problems at system and circuit level
▪ Present findings clearly and communicate to other team members and stakeholders
▪ Liaise with subcontractor development teams to ensure effective transfer of technology into future projects

Technical Skills

• On track to achieve a minimum 2.1 BEng/MEng in in Electrical/Electronic/Control/Computer Engineering or other
relevant discipline.
• Ideally some previous work experience in Engineering, either on placement, work experience and through
volunteering
• Strong academic background in electronic design for both digital and analogue circuits
• Solid first principles skills used in circuit design and component selection
• Experience in the practical application of electronics in real-world scenarios
• Experience with signal processing and algorithms
• Awareness of common CAD packages for PCB design and manufacture such as Solidworks and/or AutoCAD would
be advantageous
• Familiarity with circuit design and emulation tools such as Altium Designer
• Experience with low level (bare metal) embedded code development in small scale project
• Exposure to microcontroller application
• Knowledge of transducer and sensor principles
